AboutMy name is Mahjabeen and I'm a Chicago-based writer, blogger with ChicagoNow, freelance editor and reviewer of middle grade and young adult fiction at Booklist, and a school library assistant. Formerly, I worked as the managing editor of Chicago Woman magazine and was an arts and literature contributor for Newcity.
Much of my writing delves into my experiences as an Indian American in an Islamophobic era. BIPOC voices are frequently marginalized and underrepresented in mainstream media, which is why I make that my primary focus. Presently, I am working on an adult rom-com centering around a Desi character. |
